D’ONOFRIO AND PARKER EARN PFANJ ENDORSEMENT IN WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – October 5, 2025 – The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey (PFANJ) and Washington Township Firefighters IAFF Local 4204 are proud to endorse Tony D’Onofrio and Michael Parker for Board of Fire Commissioners in Washington Township. Tony D’Onofrio has served his community as a career and volunteer firefighter for 39 years. As a career firefighter he was chosen as a Shop Steward for Washington Township IAFF Local 4204. Michael Parker has 40 years of service as a volunteer and career firefighter. During his career as a firefighter he was elected President and Vice President of Local 4204. Both D’Onofrio and Parker served on the front lines of Washington Township, now they are ready to help lead the Board of Fire Commissioners.
"We are proud to support candidates who bring integrity, fiscal responsibility, and a collaborative spirit to the forefront of fire district leadership," said Washington Township IAFF Local 4204 President Thomas Miller. “Leadership built on trust and teamwork ensures that every dollar is spent effectively, every voice is heard, and every firefighter has the support needed to protect our residents.”
PFANJ President Matthew Caliente echoed President Miller’s sentiments, "Our fire service and PFANJ members rely on commissioners who make decisions transparently, manage taxpayer dollars wisely, and work hand-in-hand with firefighters, residents, and local officials to keep our communities safe and the fire service strong." President Caliente added, "Our members have the experience and trained their entire careers to lead. Tony and Mike’s tenures as local officers have prepared them to guide the Fire District.”

The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey (PFANJ), was established and chartered as a State Association by the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) on October 29, 1929. It is a member of the AFL-CIO. The PFANJ represents nearly 3,500 Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, Dispatchers, Fire Inspectors, Instructors, and HazMat Technicians though its over 60 locals. This includes over 3,000 of New Jersey’s approximately 6,000 professional firefighters. Its local affiliates represent first responders who work in dispatch centers, academies, airports, fire districts, suburban municipalities, and the state’s largest and busiest urban fire departments.
